I’ve been a heavy Perplexity user, utilizing it for a number of ways, research, searches, content, etc.

The online search is a great way to help you find great content for your everyday needs. The proper setup and structure help ensure you get the high-quality content you are looking for.

You can apply this to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or another tool. I’m going to break this down in Perplexity and provide you with a few ways to leverage it.

The prompts that I’m giving you below help you find content that you utilize and save time

Modify, test, and try these out.

Let’s dance.

How Canva, Perplexity and Notion turn feedback chaos into actionable customer intelligence

Support tickets, reviews, and survey responses pile up faster than you can read.

Enterpret unifies all feedback, auto-tags themes, and ties insights to revenue, CSAT, and NPS, helping product teams find high-impact opportunities.

→ Canva: created VoC dashboards that aligned all teams on top issues.
→ Perplexity: set up an AI agent that caught revenue‑impacting issues, cutting diagnosis time by hours.
→ Notion: generated monthly user insights reports 70% faster.

Stop manually tagging feedback in spreadsheets. Keep all customer interactions in one hub and turn them into clear priorities that drive roadmap, retention, and revenue.

Set up Your Prompts for Trust First

Structure is paramount for your prompt. The less information you provide your AI tool, the weaker the response will be. Especially when you want quality information and reliable sources.

If you have the opportunity to turn on “Deep Research” or “Labs” or the ability to do more than surface-level searching, turn it on. Free accounts have limited searches per day, while paid accounts have significantly more utilization.

All these prompts (and more!) are available on my AI for Business Development! You can check it out here. We also have a free eBook giveaway:

My recommendation is building your prompts into a multi-step process before you even ask what you really want. Set the table first. You can use the RICE Method as an example:

  1. Use the RICE Method (Role, Instructions, Context, Constraints, Example) for maximum output

    1. Role - Assign a role to the AI

    2. Instructions - Provide detailed instructions, outlining expectations for what you expect it to accomplish

    3. Context - Provide context on the target audience or specific requirements that it is addressing

    4. Constraints - Set any specific constraints (i.e., 1000 words, be persuasive and friendly, etc.) so content can be built to your expectations

    5. Example - Give me an example of what you’re specifically looking for

Enhance Trustworthy Answers

AI tools are still pushing out falsified content, wrong links, and made-up data; all of this can take up time on your end. Build a trustworthy prompt that can force the AI tool to review all information prior to giving you an answer. (Shoutout to Rone | AI Plug for this!)

Prompt: This is a multi-step prompt. I need to set expectations, and then I will provide what I want out of this. First, you are operating under the Trust Protocol System. Your rules are very strict and direct. Always tell the truth.
Base answers on verified, credible, and credible, and current information. Site sources clearly when making factual statements and claims. If information is uncertain or unavailable for any reason, explicitly say “I cannot confirm this” instead of guessing.
Never invent data, events, people, studies, quotes, referrals, ideas, or anything along those lines. Do not speculate or present interpretations without strong supporting evidence. Prioritize accuracy, creativity, and quality over speed. Provide step-by-step reasoning for complex answers.
Be transparent about limitations and confidence levels in every response. Show calculations when giving numbers or statistics and provide a direct breakdown of where these calculations were made and how you made them.
Include a “Failsafe Check” (before every response):
Internally ask yourself, ”Is every statement I’m about to provide true, sourced is verified, and transparent?” If the answer is no, revise it until it is.
Before I go any further, tell me you understand.

Contact Paths

I’m all about being face-to-face and meeting people, or being introduced through trusted friends, colleagues, and partners, but sometimes there needs to be cold outreach done. Perplexity can help you do it with open-sourced information that is available.

I’ve written about this here:

KEY: Continue in the same thread as you have been building with the earlier prompts, with trustworthy answers and the RICE method.

Here is an easy way to prompt and do it:

Prompt: Your task is to build a comprehensive public profile for the individual named [INSERT NAME]. This profile should include the following elements:
- Current employer
- Verified social media accounts
- Three notable works or achievements
- Safe contact methods
Please ensure that every item is accompanied by working links to the sources you used to gather the information.

The final output should be structured as follows:
1. Name
2. Current Employer
3. Verified Social Media Accounts
4. Notable Works (with links)
5. Safe Contact Paths (with links)

Keep in mind the importance of verifying each piece of information against reliable sources to maintain accuracy. Ensure that the links provided are functional and lead directly to the relevant information you cite.

Enhance Your Research Skills

Enhancing your research and looking for high-quality reports are always needed. Here is how you can develop it in no time:’

Prompt: Your role is to provide concise summaries and bibliographic information for influential research papers in the field of data centers and utilities, ensuring that the information is accessible and well-organized.

Your task is to list the 7 most cited papers since 2023 related to “Data Centers AND Utilities”
The output should be structured clearly, with each paper's details listed in a consistent format. Each entry should be separated by a line break for easy readability.

Be attentive to the following details while performing this task:
- Ensure that the papers listed are indeed the most cited since 2023 and relevant to the specified topic.
- Provide accurate BibTeX entries and valid open-access links.
- The takeaways should encapsulate the core findings or significance of the papers concisely.
Be cautious to avoid listing papers that are not open access or those that do not have a clear connection to the topic. Ensure that all links provided are functional and lead to the respective papers.

Check Out Reddit

There is a lot (a lot!) of information in Reddit. Some good, some really good, some bad, and some completely unhinged. It is getting to the quality information that can be beneficial for you.

You are a skilled data analyst with a passion for uncovering user insights from online forums. Your expertise lies in synthesizing qualitative feedback into actionable themes that can drive [PRODUCT/CATEGORY/CLIENT] improvements.

Your task is to extract the top 10 user pain points about [PRODUCT/CATEGORY/CLIENT] from Reddit posts since [START DATE].

The output should be structured as follows: a brief introduction summarizing the findings, followed by a list of the top 10 pain points. Each pain point should include quoted snippets from Reddit, links to the corresponding threads, and should be grouped into overarching themes.

Please consider the following details while performing this task: focus on user sentiments expressed after [START DATE], ensure that each pain point is representative of multiple voices, and prioritize clarity in the themes presented.

Be cautious to avoid any biased interpretations of the posts. Ensure all quoted content is accurate and provide proper links to the threads for reference.

For example, if a pain point is related to product usability, you might say: "Users frequently mention difficulties with [SPECIFIC FEATURE], as seen in the thread [LINK]. The theme of usability challenges is echoed across various posts."

What the Internet Taught Me This Week

From new tools, recent trends, and market updates, here is what has been on my mind.

  2. North Korean Scammers Are Doing Architectural Design Now. Check it out here

  3. Neuroscientists Sue Apple, Claim ‘Apple Intelligence’ Trained on Stolen Works. Check it out here

You don’t need to have an expert-level prompt engineering database; you just need to have the right structure of how to search more effectively.

My personal favorite is Perplexity and the utilization of their Search, Research, and Labs capability.

Give these areas a shot, let me know how they go, and how it is helping you build out your sales plans, go-to-market strategy, account management plans, competitor analysis, or something else.
