Looking for an AI-shared space to collaborate with your team, consultants, or outside parties to work toward a common goal?

Check out Perplexity Spaces.

Last week I talked about how you can use Perplexity to find your next teaming partner, you can check that out here: Using Perplexity Deep Research to Find Your Next Teaming Partner

Let’s take it a step further and not just think about teaming partners, but how you can now work with your team.

Whether you're preparing a capture for an opportunity, building a business campaign, a professional compiling market research, researching lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill, or an entrepreneur brainstorming new ideas, organizing all your findings can be a nightmare.

Was this newsletter forwarded to you?

You already have your own servers and computers where you share and collaborate with your team. Now, think about the instances where you can use AI. You can seamlessly group, store, and retrieve your research, keeping everything neat and easy to reference.

Perplexity Spaces lets you create dedicated environments where related searches, files, and AI-generated threads are grouped by topic or focus. Think of it as a personalized research hub that keeps chaos at bay and productivity at its peak.

Let’s make your research and collaboration easier.

And I’ll also give you an example of how I’m using it below.

Let’s dance.

Why Perplexity Spaces - Organize Your Focus

Perplexity Spaces allows you to create distinct spaces for each research topic or project. No more sifting through endless chat histories—just create a space, name it after your project, and categorize all relevant searches, notes, and findings within that space.

  • How to Do It: Create a space for each ongoing project or subject. For example, if you're researching “AI Ethics or Army Campaign or USACE Assessment or CMMC” all related threads, articles, and insights can be stored in one place.

  • Why It’s Useful: Keeps research segmented, making it easier to switch between projects without losing context.

  • Pro Tip: Add descriptions or tags to your spaces to make them even easier to navigate later.

Use Perplexity Spaces as a “Knowledge Repository.” Build a central hub for topics that you are focusing on and can be updated consistently with new findings.

Just Situational Awareness

Never put anything in here that is sensitive to you or your company. Whether it is pricing, personnel records, banking information, trade secrets, passwords, healthcare data, etc.

Second Touch - Collaborate and Share

Collaboration becomes exponentially easier when everyone’s research and ideas live in one place. Perplexity Spaces allows you to invite others to collaborate on specific spaces, making it a perfect solution for group projects, business teams, or study groups. Contributors can add their findings, refine insights, and collectively brainstorm solutions.

Hot Tip:

Here are ways that I use it. Use Perplexity Spaces for “Team Engagements & Expertise.” Assign specific topics to different team members and have them populate the space with the latest data and insights.

You can set permissions, roles, and invite contributors to each space.

Designate a space for pure marketing efforts (i.e., LinkedIn content, market campaigns, etc.), one space for a current business development effort and all the information around it, and one that is purely focused on competitors. It is a way for you to be able to keep your team engaged.

An Example in Real Time

Here is an example that I broke down. I built a space from scratch so you can see it.

I’m focusing on two areas, US Army Corps Market Assessment and Capitol Hill Legislation. I’ll eventually break these two into their own Spaces but this is where I’m starting.

Here are the steps:

  1. Log into Perplexity.ai

  2. Click on the left-hand column and choose Spaces

  3. Create a new Space

  4. Name the Space that you are specifically looking to do - the more specific the better

  • If you see I added context. Giving it parameters of what I’m looking to do.

  1. Once the Space is created - You can add Links and Upload Files

    1. Add links - include links that are relevant to what you are focusing on. The more the better

    2. Upload Files (if you have a Pro Account) - From presentations, conference slides, relevant content, etc. Add what you believe will help you.

      1. Just an FYI - There are limits depending on what level of service you have with Perplexity. Pro can upload up to 50 files per Space

  2. Start building out more of what you want Perplexity to be searching for. I am specifically looking for the USACE market assessment and what is currently on Capitol Hill from a legislative standpoint

  3. I chose Deep Research. Looking at the opportunities as well as seeing the legislation as well.

I know that there are more out there. However, I can now ask to go deeper and gather more information.

  1. Since I have a basis of what I am looking to do now for this specific threat. I can share it with collaborators to start to build additional Threads or continue on this one

    1. All I need to do is click “Share” in the upper left
